CW4WAfghan is a federally registered charity (Canada Revenue Agency #887718203RR0001.) CW4WAfghan is also registered with Industry Canada as a non-profit corporation under number 415380-4 and is licensed to operate under the Alberta Government Charities Act (#309874). CW4WAfghan is also registered as an international non-profit organization with the Ministry of Economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan under #343 when those regulations came into place as at December 2009. Reports are provided each six months to the MoEc on all funds disbursed to projects in Afghanistan.
Incorporated as a non-profit corporation in May 2003, and a registered charity in February 2009, CW4WAfghan is governed by an elected Board of Directors comprised of not less than three persons elected to fill the Officer positions, and no more than six additional persons, being Directors at large. The officers of CW4WAfghan are the National President, the National Vice President, the National Secretary and the National Treasurer.
Directors and officers are nominated and elected at the annual general meetings by voting members. The Board of CW4WAfghan is a working board, made up of volunteers committed to the purposes of the organization. The activities of CW4WAfghan are planned, implemented and evaluated by Board members in consultation with the volunteer Executive Director who works closely with the Board to carry out programming and the administration of the National office of the organization.
