Vancouver Chapter: "A Thousand Splendid Suns"
We are excited to share that the Vancouver Chapter of CW4WAfghan has partnered with the Arts Club Theatre, which is hosting a production of A Thousand Splendid Suns performed at The Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage in Vancouver, from September 12 to October 13th.
A Thousand Splendid Suns is the gripping story of two Afghan women, based on the book by Khaled Hosseini:
"In this sweeping tale set in war-torn Afghanistan, two women's lives intersect through fate. The unlikely but extraordinary friendship of Laila and Mariam helps them cope with the tyranny and tumult of life in 1990s Kabul-and leads them to an unforgettable act. A Thousand Splendid Suns, based on the bestselling novel by the author of The Kiterunner, is a haunting yet hopeful story that illuminates the strength of the human spirit."
The play is by Ursula Rani Sarma, and is presented in Vancouver in partnership with the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre.
