Featuring the sounds and tastes of Afghanistan
Welcome special guest speaker Sheba Yusufzai
- Sheba is a first generation Afghan-Canadian and she holds a B.A Honors in Political Science and a Diploma in Immigration Consultancy. Sheba has been working in the immigration field for more than 7 years. Her career involves working extensively with convention refugees from around the globe and most recently she has assisted thousands of Syrian refugees resettle all over Canada. Currently she serves as the Immigration lead in MP Maryam Monsef's office. Apart from her professional life, Sheba dedicates her spare time to her community by volunteering with local MPs, MPPs, the Consulate of Afghanistan and reading. Sheba has been a member of book drives, clothing drives, academic workshops, mineral exploration and mining conventions and student organizations. Sheba is currently preparing to open her own immigration consultancy firm so that she can help people who have been displaced due to wars and conflict to settle in Canada for a better future.
Join us for a delicious Afghan meal, silent auction, Afghan Marketplace products for Christmas and a discussion about the situation for women in Afghanistan today.
Doors open at 5:15 pm with dinner at 6 pm
