Please join our workshops designed to engage fellow Canadians in understanding the importance of education for women and girls in Afghanistan and how to have an active role as global citizens. Thank you to our volunteers and to our special guest speakers for their expertise and commitments to human rights for women and girls. WHY:
A variety of workshops will be held throughout the day designed to engage Canadians in understanding the importance of education for women and girls in Afghanistan. Learn how to have an active role as global citizens. Help us welcome our expert speakers from Afghanistan and Canada, and join members of Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan and Little Women for Little Women in Afghanistan to share in discussions regarding Canada’s commitment to human rights for Afghan women and girls.

WHAT:
Courage to Learn: Education for Afghan Women & Girls

This initiative is hosted by the volunteer organization, Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan and is undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada provided through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Minister Oda will provide the opening remarks. Lauryn Oates, Project Director of Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan, is the keynote speaker and our Afghan guests will share their experiences and stories to help us increase our understanding about human rights in Afghanistan.
