The past year, CW4WAfghan has provided support to the operations of PARSA to ensure they have the resources to 'pay the rent' and implement their many excellent programs. PARSA’s mission is to train and develop professional Afghan leaders by providing innovative and effective programs in education, economic development, psychosocial training and healthcare serving Afghan women, children, impoverished families and the disabled population. PARSA was established in 1996, and endured through the era of Taliban governance, conducting secret literacy and economic programs for women. Six of the original founding staff still work at PARSA as directors. PARSA’s current executive director, Marnie Gustavson, has worked with PARSA for over five years developing programs and staff that excel at working with Afghan government agencies effectively to produce change on behalf of Afghanistan’s marginalized.
