Security Code of Practice: CW4WAfghan representatives in Canada and in Afghanistan abide by a code of security practices outlined in our organizational security manual. This code of practice is prepared for organizations like ours with a small field presence and a modest budget for security infrastructure. If you would like to obtain a copy of this manual, please submit a request to us by e-mail explaining why this is requested, and upon approval of your request, we would be glad to share this with other non-profit organizations seeking to improve their security standards to facilitate their social justice or humanitarian work in Afghanistan or similar environments.
Finances:
Audit Financial Statements are available to download below. Please email info@cw4wafghan.ca with any quetions. Due to the volunteer contributions from our executive and members overall, and with our ability at present to effectively operate with no paid staff, we are able to allocate 100% of the funds provided by individual Canadian donors to our projects in Afghanistan.
Other expenses for project monitoring, evaluation, administration, operations including special public engagement activities (such as our information bulletins, our Canadian teachers' resource. etc.) are provided by special grants specifically designated for these expenditures.
Project Funding in Afghanistan: To briefly highlight our successes, from 1999-2008, CW4WAfghan has funded a total of 194 projects totalling $2,008,800 to our Afghan projects. These amounts average US$1,000 to US$60,000, covering project terms ranging from six months to two years.
Note: CW4WAfghan members have approved that our budgeting will allow for sufficient funds to be available each year to sustain our long-term commitments with our project partners. Accordingly, an additional $300,000 is available to budget for the next calendar year (2010) covering approximately 20 projects.
The large majority of our donations making up the advances to Afghanistan listed below come from individual donors in Canada. Thank you for making this possible.
