Vancouver Chapter Film Screening: "Afghan Cycles"

The Vancouver Chapter of Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan invites you to a screening of the award-winning documentary Afghan Cycles, directed by Sarah Menzies, whose feature length film documents the story of a generation of Afghan women who are confronting gender and cultural barriers by using the bicycle as a vehicle for freedom, empowerment and social change.

Vancouver Chapter Screening and Meet the Director: Mightier Than The Sword

Join the Vancouver Chapter for a film screening, a meet and greet with Director Roberta Staley, Afghan marketplace, refreshments and more!

Mightier than the Sword will be prededed by The Unknown, a short drama depicted through the eyes of a career woman and her family in Afghanistan. The film highlights the ongoing and increasing insecurity that Afghans experience.

UBC Afghan Student Association Nowruz Dinner and Entertainment Event

The Afghan Student Association at UBC invites you to join them in celebrating Nowruz at an evening of traditional Afghan food, live music, fashion show, and art, showcasing local Afghan artists’ work. 

Doors open at 6 pm at The Nest at 6133 Student Union Boulevard, UBC
